JUNEAs June winds down, and we rethink and refocus the next six months I like to make sure my readers and my Mind Masters members are as excited to move forward as you were in January when you set goals for the year. It is so easy to tell ourselves that we missed the mark, or to even give up on some of the goals.

One of the most challenging things I have seen as I work with small business owners is falling into the trap of seeing what wasn’t accomplished or achieved instead of taking stock of achievements. Certainly as we work at business every day, things get done, but until we begin to value our work activities, which are the building blocks for each new bigger dream or goal, our motivation gets diluted.

But as was pointed out in the One Minute Millionaire, by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen, we are reminded that “tiny changes brought about by a butterfly moving its wings in San Francisco has the power to transform the weather conditions in Shanghai.”

Here’s the challenge I extend to you:

1. Remember to take small steps. In whatever goal you are wanting to achieve, those initial first small steps will generate the power for the end result.
2. Take time to put a value on the steps you take, the higher the value the more success you create for yourself.
3. One of the best sources of encouragement you can have is an Achievement, Accomplishment, Victories or Completion List. Review your record regularly to maintain a high level of motivation and an ever-increasing keenness of desire for achievement. This creates the “grit” for each next step.
4. Keep a journal or a “gratitude” journal to focus on what is GOOD in your life, instead of focusing on what you didn’t get accomplished.

It is mid-year, make each day of the next six months “million dollar” days, because you have the power to transform your thinking, thus translating you habits and actions into achievements.
